These in combination with vanilla pizzelle can be part of a Christmas dessert spread!


Christmas Eve Chocolate Pizzelle.

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup white, granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon espresso powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1-2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted
  • Christmas sprinkles (optional)
  1. Beat the eggs and sugar in a large bowl until light yellow in color. Whisk in the oil, extracts, salt, flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder. Stir in the melted butter.
  2. Allow the batter to sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. Preheat a pizzelle iron. Take about 1 tablespoon of the batter per pizzella, and place it in each mold of the preheated iron. Cook for 20-30 seconds until firm. Place on a wire rack to cool. Repeat the remaining batter, and dip each pizzella in melted chocolate. Buon Natale!
