The Caffé Americano…with Nutella.

A twist on the classic Americano

The Caffé Americano has its roots in Italy during World War II when American soldiers weren’t fond of the strong espresso Italians were used to drinking. And so they added water to the beloved Italian espresso shot. The Americano typically consists of 1/3 espresso and 2/3 water.

Try this version with a Nutella coconut brim 🙂

The Caffé Americano…with Nutella.

  • 1 shot espresso
  • Boiling water
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 1 tablespoon Nutella
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened, shredded coconut
  1. Coat the rim of your glass with Nutella, and dip in shredded coconut. Make the shot of espresso, and pour into a glass. Add boiling water until coffee reaches the top of the cup. Add in sugar cube, and stir until dissolved. Enjoy!
